Alistiqlal Mosque was built in the 1920s and is one of Haifa's four mosques. While the mosque is one of the Islamic monuments in the city, it is one of the deep-rooted mosques in Palestine. It was closed for a long period by the occupier, but locals reopened it in 1991 to be back crying the name of Allah again.
After a century has passed since its construction, lots of the mosque's utilities and components are corroded. As a result, it is necessary to fully renovate and reconstruct it.
